Native Garden Makeover
This project transformed both the front and back yards into cohesive and beautiful spaces that prioritize safety and sustainability. In the front, a brand new bluestone stepped entry was introduced, creating a natural and welcoming path from the sidewalk to the home’s front door. This elegant entryway replaced the original awkward path that only connected the home to the driveway. Complementing the new hardscape, all plantings are native and drought-tolerant, adding beauty and ease of maintenance.
In the backyard, the design addressed the homeowners’ concern for their children’s safety with a custom redwood and copper pipe fence that not only protects the kids but also maintains clear sight lines to and from the elevated lawn. Copper accents were incorporated into the lighting fixtures, tying the front and back designs together with a cohesive aesthetic. The backyard also features a fun and relaxing bench swing, perfectly shaded by existing oak trees. Succulents were added throughout the space, enhancing the overall look with their vibrant textures and low water needs.
